5/23/2011 11:19:25 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 23: All India Kashmiri Samaj, after assessing the condition of the recently employed migrant youths under the Prime Minister’s Relief and Rehabilitation Programme accommodated at different locations, explained that the need of the hour is that the government and government departments should be sensitive towards the needs of the employees who are stationed at different locations in the valley.
Addressing a press conference today Moti Kaul, President AIKS said that he was shocked to know that these employees have not been paid their salaries for the last five months since their joining.
How these needy families can sustain without salaries, he wondered. Kaul also said that the accommodation provided to them is very poor and many recruits especially the females may rethink on joining the duties and some may even think of abandoning the job.
Kaul urged the government to look into the problems being faced by the recently employed youth on emergency basis. If any one will think of abandoning the job, it will be a great failure on the part of the government, he said.
Besides visiting Vessu and Mattan where the newly migrant youths have been accommodated, Kaul also visited various temples and shrines like Nagdandi temple, Hari Parbat, Jeevan Sahib Ladoo,Gosani Gund Ashram, Tri Sandhya near Kokernag, Sheva Bhagwati Akingam etc.
He mentioned that the temples and shrines are the only living symbols of our existence in the valley. The deplorable condition of these temples and shrines is unbelievable. We have also brought in the past the attention of the government about illegal encroachments and the land gabbing by the vested interests but unfortunately there has been no concrete step taken by the government to stop these illegal encroachments and has done nothing to do improvements and repair works to the temples who have been damaged. He urged the government to show the will in responding to the problems being faced by the exiled community. Any concrete steps In this direction can be a small confidence building measure.
Kaul was flanked by organizing secretary Aryan Ramesh in the press conference who said that despite of many assurances given by the government the Hindu Temples and Shrines Bill has been repeatedly put into the dust bin which has shattered the faith of Kashmir Pandits in the government and the establishment. He also urged the government that the recruitment of the remaining posts should be initiated fore with.
