| Leopard kills ox near Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 23: Panic gripped the remote Bara village of Sapwal in Samba after a leopard Sunday night killed an ox there.
Official sources said leopard last night struck Bara and killed the ox of Surinder Singh, son of Sawan Singh.
There was panic in the area after this incident as people feared going out of homes today. Especially children were not allowed to venture out of homes as the elderly family members feared that the leopard must be hiding somewhere in the area, the sources added.
The Bara residents had appealed the authorities concerned to either catch the big cat, or take steps to scare it away.
