Trade unions’ delegation to visit Delhi, will submit demands to PM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 23: A high power delegation of heads of various like minded Trade Unions will visit New Delhi on May 27 to urge the Prime Minsiter and other central leaders for providing a special package of Rs. 5000 crore to Jammu and Kashmir towards payment of 6th Pay Commission arrears and allied benefits to the employees and pensioners in one go. This was disclosed by Subash Shastri president of National Mazdoor Conference while addressing a NMC activist here today Shastri said that delegation will meet the Prime Minister, Union Finance Minister, Dy. Chairman Planning Commission and Submit memorandums to them pleading for sanctioning a special package for meeting the demands of state employees and pensioners. Shastri said that the trade Union Leaders will also call on the Union Home Minster and request him for declaring Jammu & Srinagar as B-1-cities. Referring to the need for formulating a National Pay Policy, Shastri said that any pay commission setup by the Government of India should cover both central and the state Govt. employees so that its recommendation are implemented simultaneously through out the country to avoid any heart burning or agitation in any state. He said they would take up this issue also with the central leaderships during their visit to New Delhi. Other demands raised by Shastri included release of salary of motivatiors working in the IWDP Akhnoor beside their regularization, conservation of seasonal labour working in the irrigation department into daily rated workers, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in rural development department, continues of service of casual labour working in PWD department.
