| LeT ultra killed at Surankote, 4 trapped | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 23: A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant was today killed by security forces in an encounter in Dera Ki Gali woods of Surankote, Poonch, while at least four others were stated to be trapped in the area. Acting on a tip-off, police and army jawans launched an operation in Dera Ki Gali forests in the afternoon. Official sources said while they were making searches, militants opened fire which was returned. In the ensuing exchange of fire, the jawans shot dead one militant. At least four militants were still holed up in the area, the sources added. Other details were awaited. |
