PSC to hold documentary making competition on CEDAW | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 24: Presentation Convent school is going to organize an inter-school documentary competition on convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women (CEDAW). In this regard a briefing session was held with various schools from all over the city in attendance. The students attending to the briefing session gave an overview of the subject undertaken under the competition based on the women awareness and also the discrepancies to which the present genre women are face with. Speaking on the occasion, advocate Mandeep Reen who was invited as special invitee to throw light on the various features pertaining to domestic violence and other discriminations meted out to the women made children aware about the legal aspects of the women rights and shared her experience and wisdom writhe the students. Vikram Sharma, journalist and specialist documentary producer who too was a special invitee on the occasion presented an account on technicalities of documentary making from selection of the story to its actual execution through the eye of the camera. His work “Caleimondy Revisited’ was shown on the occasion which was highly praised by the students as well as the management of the school. Neeraj Upadhyay, senior video journalist from CNN-IBN, another special invitee gave the demonstration on the usage of angles, frames, lights and other techniques that make up a successful documentary. Various schoolchildren and the representatives present on the occasion benefited from the briefing session and submitted their concern to be the part of the competition. Competition would be held on August 26 which would include prizes through judgment in various categories.
