Undeterred by Board decision, Niyas all set to start yatra on June 15 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 24: Undeterred by Government decision not to allow the unregistered yatris for darshan to holy cave before the official date of yatra on June 29, Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas (BABAYN) has reiterated its commitment to start the yatra on Jesht Purnima falling on June 15. To counter the Shrine Board and Government’s bid to stop the yatra, BABAYN backed by VHP and Bajrang Dal is all set to start to send the first batch of yatra for darshan from here to holy cave on June 14 so that they can perform the darshan at cave shrine next day. The VHP which has fully supported the Niyas is organizing a Sant Sammelan at Jammu on June 13. The sants all over the country are likely to participate in the Sammelan. The Sammlean will also be graced by one of the Shankaacharyas of the country. During the Sammelan the Sants will highlight the religious and historical significance of organizing the yatra on jesht Purnima as per tradition. Through this Sammelan the Niyas and other Hindu organizations will not only warn the Government against its move in interfering with religious affairs of Hindus in the state but will also make a resolve to have the darshan on June 15. “We will not be cowed down by the Board and Government move to reduce the yatra period by 15 days’’, said VHP state chief, Rama Kant Dubey. Dubey said that Niyas and other Hindu organizations are holding the corner meetings daily in different parts of Jammu to mobilize the public opinion in this regard. The Sants who will assemble in city of temples on June 13 will also lead the yatra to holy cave next day said, Surinder Aggarwal President of the Niyas said this will be preceded by a Maha Yagya at Ranvireshwar temple on May 29, he added. He said the suraksha sutra will also be brought from Kashi to Jammu on that day and prayers will be offered for the success of the yatra. The Niyas is fully committed to start the yatra as per tradition, he added. Aggarwal said so for 20,000 pilgrims have been registered by the Niyas at its 30 registration centers across J&K. This will pick up from tomorrow after the VHP will also open its 500 registration counters all over the country, he added. Justifying the decision of Niyas to organize yatra on June 15, Dubey accused the Shrine Board of playing in the hands of the State Government which for appeasing the separatists has set a card in motion to decrease the duration of yatra by 15 days. He also took a strong exception to the decision of Board to install the security picket at the holy cave to stop the unregistered yatra. ``We are ready to face any action but take yatra to holy cave as per tradition on Jesh purnima,’’he added. The VHP leader asked the Board not to interfere in the religious affairs of Hindus and confine itself to arrangements of the yatra only. It is unfortunate that Board is creating hurdles in the yatra to please the separatists of the Valley and this will in no way be acceptable to the Hindus of the country, he added. If Board goes ahead with its decision to stop the yatra, the Hindu organizations will be constrained to launch nationwide agitation, said Aggarwal.
