| Semis position cleared in inter-district kabaddi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 24: Semifinals line-up has been drawn in the ongoing under-14 and 17 years Inter-District divisional level Kabaddi tournament, organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
Now, in under-14 semifinals, Poonch shall face Reasi and Kathua shall take on Samba. In under-17, Kathua shall be playing against Poonch while Jammu shall meet Samba tomorrow.
Earlier, host district Jammu completely dominated in under-17 boys’ event winning all their four league matches to make it to the last four stages. Kathua, Poonch and Samba were other districts to make it to the semifinals in this age group.
However, in under-14 year category, Jammu boys failed to seal a berth in the semifinals as the side lost three pool matches out of the four played. The four teams qualifying for the under-14 semifinals included Poonch, Reasi, Kathua and Samba districts.
This tournament, wherein over 200 students are participating, is being held under the overall supervision of Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, S S Bali.
Earlier, in under-17 years group, Jammu district thrashed Ramban by 22 points (28-06) and Doda by eight points (16-8) to reach the semifinals, while in under-14 event, Kathua and Samba remained undefeated.

Under-14 years: Doda bt Jammu by four points (20-16), Kathua bt Reasi by 18 points (23-05), Poonch bt Kishtwar by 30 points (45-15), Ramban bt Udhampur by 13 points (28-15), Samba bt Doda by five points (10-05), Kathua bt Ramban by 20 points (23-03), Rajouri bt Ramban by six points (12-06), Poonch bt Samba by seven points (17-10), Rajouri bt Udhampur by 10 points (15-05) and Kishtwar bt Jammu by three points (12-09).
Under-17 years: Jammu bt Ramban by 22 points (28-6), Rajouri bt Kishtwar by 13 points (20-07), Poonch bt Reasi by 11 points (22-11), Kathua bt Ramban by 16 points (24-08), Poonch bt Ramban by 17 points (21-04), Kathua bt Kishtwar by 23 points (29-06), Reasi bt Doda by 10 points (25-15), Samba bt Udhampur by 19 points (25-06), Jammu bt Doda by eight points (16-08) and Samba bt Rajouri by two points (18-16)
