| Facilitate tourists, ensure hassle free travel, DDC advises officers | | | Early Times Report
ANANTNAG, May 24: To ensure implementation of rates for boarding and lodging for the tourists, the District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Hussian Rizvi, convened a meeting of officers and Pahalgam Hotel owners at Pahalgam the other day.
District Development Commissioner stressed upon hoteliers to protect the interests of the tourists and asked the officers of Pahalgam Development Authority, Tourism and Municipal Committee, Pahalgam for taking effective measures for the beautification of the Pahalgam and keep the place clean and Pollution free.
To fix rates for boarding and lodging in various hotels according to the classification, the District Development Commissioner stressed upon the hoteliers to charge the rates as per norms and desist from over charging from the tourists coming from various parts of the country and abroad.
On this occasion, a committee comprising of Assistant Director Tourist, Tehsildar Pahalgam and Manager, JKTDC was constituted to see the facilities available at various hotels at Pahalgam and will recommend tariff to be charged for boarding and lodging from tourists during their stay at Pahalgam. The committee has been asked to submit the report within 10 days.
Among others the meeting was attended by SSP, Anantnag, R.K.Jalla, CEO Pahalgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, Executive Officers, MCP, Abdul Rashid, Assistant Director Tourism, Mahboob Ali, District Information Officer Anantnag, Mr Mohammad Amin Mushki, President Pahalgam Hotel Association, Javid Ahmad Burza , Anwar Aftab Bakshi, Sitander Sathi and Mohammad Ramzan Bhat, Hoteliers.
