Elections of JK Bank Officers Association held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 24 Elections of the J&K Bank Officers Association were held at Chanderbhaga Community Hall, Canal Road here the other day. The elections were conducted under the supervision of convener K.S. Bhalwal, Co-Convener Ram Krishan Gupta and member election committee PK Sharma under tight security. Officers from length and breadth of Jammu Province espoused their keen interest in the poll process and participated in full strength to choose their representatives to the 10 coveted posts by secret ballot. Around 1046 officers participated in the secret ballot starting from 9 a.m. and which went up to 5 in the evening. A great enthusiasm was seen particularly in the ladies officers some of whom were seen visiting the venue accompanied by their kids. The people of the vicinity marvelled at the diligence and efficiency with which the designated committee conducted the election. After day long hectic poll exercise the results were declared late night at around 12 pm in which the team healed by Iqbal Singh came triumphant and sweept all the 10 coveted posts by overwhelming margins. Out of over more than 1300 voters on roll about 1046 exercised their franchise and elected their chosen representatives. Iqbal Singh polled about 646 votes and was declared elected for the post of Senior Vice President defeating his rival Sudershan Salgotra, Mohan Singh Singly polled highest votes 734 and was declared elected for the post of senior Vice President defeating his rival Pritam Singh by huge margin, Anil Deep Mehta and Sudesh Gupta polled 693 and 591 votes respectively and declared elected forn the 2 posts of vice presidents thereby defeating their rivals Lal Singh and C.P. Badyal, Ravi Gupta polled 601 votes and was declared elected for the post of Organizing Secretary defeating his rival Naresh Singh, Ajay Kohli, Satish Sharma and A.K. Choudhary polled 709, 585 and 584 votes respectively and wered declared elected for the 3 posts of secretaries thereby defeating their rivals Ravi Sharma, Rahul Upadhaya polled 686 votes and was declared elected for the post of Treasurer thereby defeating his rival Shishu Malhotra by sizeable margin.
