| Pattan Panches, Sarpanches call on Mir | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 25: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said the Government is keen to grant powers and funds to Panchayats so that democracy takes roots in the State at the lowest level.
Interacting with a delegation of Panchs and Sarpanchs from Pattan who called on him here this morning after getting elected, the Minister asked them to be guardians of public aspirations and work for mitigating their problems.
Mir said Panchayati Raj is set to bring in a socio-developmental revolution in the State and asked the elected representatives to study and help in the efficient execution of rural development schemes like NREGA, PMGSY, etc. He complimented the newly elected panchs and Sarpanchs for their victory.
