CU controversy deepens | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 25 Where the people are playing undue politics over the Central University, the students of the Jammu region are worse affected. Due to the undue politics first over the identification of the suitable land for the establishment of the Central University and later controversy over the selection of the vice-chancellor has left the students of Jammu in misery. The partial and lackluster approach of the government is clear from the fact that it is second session of the central university in Kashmir and the Central University in Jammu is still on papers only. Adding more miseries, the government still is not in a mood to take some serious steps over this issue. Karun, BBM student The Central University issue is gaining momentum in Jammu. As per my information, this issue basically is baseless. Earlier the politics was created over the identification of land and later it was shifted over to the selection of the vice-chancellor. If the government is really serious in establishing the university in Jammu, then these issues hardly hold any relevance. From all this chaos only the non-serious approach of the government is depicted. Salena Janjua, Student To be honest, all the issues related to the Central University are self - created and are irrelevant. If the government wants the establishment of the university in Jammu, then it is required that some serious steps should be taken. Whenever some developmental work is supposed to take place in Jammu, many controversies surrounds that development, why it happens with Jammu only? The students in Kashmir are privileged as the second session of the central University has started over there, but in Jammu, the Central university still holds its existence on papers only. Ranjana, Teacher This issue should be solved at the earliest. Students from Jammu are forced to go out of the state for higher studies as there are lesser number of seats in Jammu University if the Central University would be established, the students will be benefited to a great extent. Even this will be a positive step which will further lead to the development of the region. It is genuine development and the government should look into the possibilities as how this issue could be solved at the earliest.
