Court rejects bifurcation of Challan | Amandeep Murder case | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May-25 (JNF):- The 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu , Vinod Chatterji Koul today rejected the application filed by former SSP Manohar Singh, one of the accused of fudging evidence in the case in the much publicized Amandeep Murder case. Singh had sought bifurcation of challan and separate trial from the accused Jatinder Singh & Royal Singh. The court after hearing the parties observed that the case is at the stage of recording the statement of prosecution witnesses and every time one or the other accused is making efforts to prevent the recording of the evidence on one pretext or the other. The statement of Deepinder Kour mother of the deceased has been recorded in part and she is being cross-examined but prayer is made in this application to bifurcation of challan and till then proceedings be stayed, if such prayer is accepted that means the examination of prosecution witnesses which has started after some of the accused failed to stall the same. The apprehension of the prosecution that witnesses threat of being eliminated is supported by such conduct of the accused. The application being without any merit, is mere abuse of process of law and is rejected. JNFJNF/MAY/25/2011/1
