Panel to recommend hotel rates prior to Amarnath yatra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, May 25: In view of the commencement of Amarnath yatra next month, state government has constituted a three-member committee to recommend rates for lodging in various hotels in Pahalgam health resort, which serves as the base camp for most pilgrims. The committee comprising of Assistant Director Tourism, Tehsildar Pahalgam and Manager Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation has been asked to submit its report within 10 days, an official spokesman said. The committee was formed at a meeting convened by District Development Commissioner Anantnag Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi to ensure implementation of rates for boarding and lodging. It will look into the facilities available at various hotels and recommend tariff to be charged for boarding and lodging from tourists during their stay at the resort. The District Development Commissioner also asked the officers of Pahalgam Development Authority, Tourism and Municipal Committee, to take effective measures for the beautification of the the health resort and keep the place clean and Pollution free.
