| M&RE Wing Jammu records 15.67 % increase in revenue realization: Rather | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, MAY 25- Minister for Finance Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today chaired a meeting of PDD Engineers and Officers to review revenue realization in EM& RE Wing, Jammu besides working out multi pronged strategies for enhancing the output of this vital unit.
Minister of State for Power Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan was also present in the meeting.
The meeting had a detailed discussion regarding category-wise revenue realization of the wing besides deliberating upon various issues to further streamline the functioning of this vital unit of the department.
It was informed in the meeting that the M &RE Wing Jammu has realized a revenue of Rs. 587.17 crore during 2010-11 against Rs. 507.62 crore during 2009-10 thus registering an increase of 15.67 %.
Appreciating the wing for enhancing the revenue realization, the Minister said that such achievements indicates the hardwork and dedication of the officers and encourages others to follow such outstanding performances.
Reviewing the status of computerization in EM & RE Wing, Jammu, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to complete this process by July this year so that more transparency could be ensured in payment of electricity bills. He also exhorted upon them to ensure early installation of meters in the unmetered areas for judicious use of the electricity besides conducting regular inspections to the metered areas to check their functioning.
It was informed in the meeting that during 2010-11 24442 meters were installed while 3.38 lakh meters will be installed in the unmetered areas.
