Lecture on ‘Structural Story Of the Discovery of | Protein Antibiotics’ organised in JU | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 25: The University of Jammu organized a Popular Lecture on "Structural Story of the Discovery of Protein Antibiotics - Free from Bacterial Resistance" under its Popular Science Lecture Series Programme. Professor Tej Pal Singh, Distinguished Biotechnology Research Professor, AIIMS, New Delhi was the Key speaker in the programme. The function was organized by Professor Rajnikant, Coordinator, Popular Science Lecture Series Programme and Head of the Department of Physics & Electronics, University of Jammu; as a part of an on-going academic exercise initiated by the esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Varun Sahni. Professor Tej Pal Singh spoke at length about how the Protein antibiotics were discovered vis-a-vis the contribution of Indian scientists in this field. On this occasion; book titled "Applied Solid State Physics" authored by Prof. Rajnikant was also launched by the dignitaries. Prof. Varun Sahni and Dr. RA Vishwakarma spoke high of the contribution made by Prof. Rajnikant for academic fraternity and lauded his efforts for driving admirable image of University of Jammu. A brief presentation about the book was also made by Bhushan Sharma, Sr. Manager, Wiley India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. As Principal Investigator, Professor Rajnikant, has successfully accomplished 14 research projects on various aspects of crystallography, including single crystal growth, polymorphism, X-ray structure analysis, hydrogen bonding in solids and so on. Bhushan Sharma described that John Wiley & Sons, Inc. founded in 1807, has been a valued source of information and understanding for over 200 years, helping people around the world meet their needs and fulfill their aspirations.
