| JU makes it 4-wkt win in Pran Malhotra Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 26: Powered by a brilliant half century from Irshad, University of Jammu (JU) today made it an emphatic four-wicket over United Cricket Club (UCC) Udhampur in the 2nd Pran Malhotra Memorial Cricket Tournament underway at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
It took Irshad just 44 deliveries to make 59 runs with the help of 12 boundaries. Earlier, UCC bowled out for 166 runs in 42.3 overs of the 50 overs game, which, in reply, JU chased for the loss of four wickets sparing 20.4 overs.
Tanveer was top scorer with 35 runs while Nipun and Sunil contributed 23 and 22 runs respectively. From JU, Ajeet Pal Singh was most successful bowler with four wickets while Jimmy and Lokesh took two wickets each.
In reply, JU overhauled the UCC total making 170 runs losing six wickets in 29.2 overs in the process. Irshad was top scorer with 59 runs, followed by Sunil and Shahzad, who contributed 23 and 34 runs respectively. Sunil claimed three wickets from UCC while Rahul and Nipun took one each.
