Manish hits century to help NCC to T20 final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 26: National Cricket Club (NCC) today sailed into the final of 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, courtesy a brilliant century from lefty Manish Dogra at MA Stadium, here. In today’s second semi-final, NCC trounced Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) by a comfortable margin of 46 runs. Now, NCC shall lock horns against Aggarwal Cricket Club in the title clash slated to be held on May 28. Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, NCC piled up a decent total of 177 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Manish scored marvelous 107 runs off just 72 balls hitting 16 boundaries. Kavaljeet Singh, Amit Billowria and Sagar Gupta also contributed 24, 18 and 13 runs to the total respectively. From YSCC, Jot took two wickets in his four overs giving away 25 runs, while Sourav claimed one. In reply, YSCC batsmen failed to tackle the spin trio of Vijay Dogra, Deepak Singh Manhas and Inderjeet Singh and lost wickets at regular intervals to bundle-out for 131 runs, thereby lost the match by 46 runs. Balvinder (28), Lara (20), Kapil (18), Aman (17) and Gourav (16) were other the main contributors. From NCC, Vijay Dogra was most successful bowler with four wickets for 23 runs in his 4 overs spell. Deepak Singh Manhas claimed three wickets while Inderjeet bagged two and Kavaljeet Singh one. Manish Dogra of National Cricket Club was obvious choice for the man of the match title.
