Discuss pay commission arrear issue | JCC leaders meet CM | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, May 26 (KNS): A delegation of Joint Consultative Committee of government employees met Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, here on Thursday and discussed various issues pertaining to Sixth Pay Commission with him. Sources told KNS JCC leader, Khurshid Aalam, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Nazir Ahmad Mir and Abdul Majeed called on the CM at Civil Secretariat here. During 45-minutes meeting, sources said, employee leaders told CM to reconsider roadmap of the government for payment of arrears of Sixth Pay Commission and other demands. The CM, they added, assured the employee leaders that the government would fulfill their genuine demands, but they should avoid path of confrontation. Talking to KNS Khurshid Aalam said, “The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and we discussed all issues threadbare. We hope the CM would fulfill our demands.” Immediately after the meeting, Qayoom Wani told KNS that for the first time it seems government doesn’t want to confront with the employees. “We are hopeful some thing concrete will come out of today’s meeting. We don’t want confrontation with the government,” he said.
