5/26/2011 9:52:08 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 26: A general body meeting of PSEJAC was held under the chairmanship of Suresh Sharma and President of the Peoples Democratic Trade Union J&K, where all the major constituents like SFC, JK Agro Industries, JK Cements, Handloom Dev.corp., Women Dev. Corp., HPMC, JKI, Red Cross, JKPCC , SRTC were represented by senior trade union leaders.
The meeting took stock of the burning issues confronting the PSU employees of the State and attention of the senior leadership of the GEJAC was invited to take up these issues on priority with the Govt.
Sharma said that sincerity of the Chief Minister for revival of the PSUs is under cloud and wondered appointment and purpose of committee after committees from Godbole, to Haseeb Drabu and now TASK force headed by Khan, no action is initiated on their reports.
What is the fun of such committee when its reports are not taken seriously by the govt. but a sinister design of the govt. to buy time in order to allow the PSUs to die their own death rather being timely diagnosed and treated properly?
He demanded that Haseeb Drabu report should be made public and implemented in the first instance. He enjoined upon the Govt. to associate PSEJAC representatives in the Task force to make it more result oriented and fruitful for the govt.
Till the task force submits its report, the workers should not suffer and their rightful dues should be paid without any hitch, he maintained. Anchal Bakshi, Surjit Singh, A.k. Tandon, C.K.Sudan, Madam Basanti, Sandip Sharma , Ashok Sandal etc attended.
The meeting noted with concern non issuance of orders with regard to release of 16% DA in favour of PSU employees and demanded its immediate release without any delay lest the employees will come on the roads.
