| Music & dance, an essence of our culture: Charak | | | Jammu Nov 21 Saying that our country has rich cultural heritage, Minister for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak today called upon the students to involve themselves in cultural activities to have its impact in their daily life. He said co-curricular activities have to go side by side with academic education and added that our country has a rich folk lore, which he said could be used as a medium for educated people about the policies and programmes of government. Mr. Charak was speaking at the annual inter school dance festival ‘Nrityanjali’ organized by Convent Senior Secondary School Gandhi Nagar. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is also known as mini India having different cultures, languages. He said that our students posses enough talent in various fields which needs to be polished and utilized. Mr. Charak said that providing education on modern lines is the only way to eradicate poverty in the state. He called upon the teaching community to educate the future builders on modern lines so that they would compete the challenges not only at national but also at international level. He said students are the future builders of the state and called upon them to work hard for educating themselves as they have to contribute for making J&K a prosperous state of the country. Mr. Charak appreciated the students for presenting cultural programme. Later, Mr. Charak distributed the prizes among the students who performed the folk dances of the country with soulful songs. |
