J&K Pensioners Welfare Association held meet | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: As extra ordinary meeting of J&K Pensioners Welfare Association was held today at Srinagar which presided over by Sampal Prakash, President of the Association. The association members discussed various issues including the release of commutation, gratuity and arrears of 6th pay commission, medical scheme and hostel for pensioners. Even the members demanded disposal of representations of various about retrospective effects of 28 years qualifying service and post facto confirmation of retried officers pending in secretariat and filling of writ petition in the Supreme Court about pending 50% of retirement benefits of pensioners. The association members took a unanimously decision that if the government would not release residual retirements benefits by the end of May 2011, association will launch state- wide agitation at the risk of the government. Shakti Gupta Provincial president Jammu informed the house that District committees in Jammu Division have already been constituted and one day conference of the pensioners is likely to be held at Doda in the second week of June 2011 for which a committee consisting of Roghbir Singh Bloria Provincial Gen Secretary, Yashpal Gupta District President Udhampur and Fida Kishtwari District President Kishtwari has been constituted. While addressing the meeting state President, Sampal Parkash appealed the pensioners to cooperate and come forward and the noble cause of the association. He also informed that immediately after the vacations writ petition for a release of remaining 50% will be filled in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile process of having a dialogue with cabinet Ministers continues and association has already met law minister and forest Minister and submitted the memorandum.
