| Woman held for forcing minor into prostitution | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 26: A woman was today arrested by police at Janipura here for allegedly forcing a 15-year-old girl to sell sex.The woman, whom police sources identified as Santosh Parihar of Janipura, was cooling her feet in the Domana police station lock up.
The girl was today allegedly sent by the woman with two motorcycle-borne youth to have sex with them, the sources added.
She, however, jumped from the mobike near Domana in an attempt to free herself from the woman's clutches.Sources said when some people gathered near the girl, the
motorcyclist sped away. The people then took her to the nearby Domana police station where she allegedly revealed that she had been forced into prostitution by the woman.She told police that being orphan she lived with her uncle at
Kishtwar where Santosh happened to come on the last Shivratri festival. "Though she brought me from Kishtwar to do her household works at Janipura, she forced me sell sex," she alleged.
Acting on her complaint, police raided Santosh's Janipura residence and arrested her.
The girl was alleged to have told police that the woman ran a sex racket from her house. Her sustained interrogation was on.The girl was likely to be handed over to her uncle at Kishtwar after her medical examination tomorrow.
