4000 willow cliffs seized, four arrested

BANIHAL, NOV 21 : Police today seized a truck loaded with illegal willow cliffs being transported from Kashmir to Jammu and arrested four persons.
According to reports, on a tip off police intercepted a truck No.JK02F/8727 loaded with 4000 willow cliffs being smuggled from Kashmir to Jammu.
The Police party led by SHO Abid Rafiqi seized a truck and arrested four persons traveling in the vehicle. The market value of the seized willow cliffs is worth Rs 8 lakh. The arrested persons are- Dedar Singh son of Kartar Singh of Chatha, Mohd Akbar son of Mohd Jamal of Pantha Chowk, Abdul Rehman son of Habibullah Dar of Srinagar and Rajan Singh son of Chaudhary Gurdev Singh of Panchari. During the interrogation they confessed that willow cliffs were transported illegally. Police registered a case u/s 379, 420 RPC 6/15 forest Act under FIR No.254/2006 against them.
