| Court frames corruption charges against Patwari in trap case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May-27 (JNF):- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu AK Koul today framed corruption charges against then Patwari Jagdev Singh then posted Halqa Raj Nagar Budhal who was caught red-handed by the State Vigilance Organization on March 30, 2010 while accepting Rs 3500/- and a case u/s 5(1) (d) of PC Act 2006 r/w section 161 RPC.
Senior Prosecuting Officer Rohit Gupta appeared for the VOJ whereas Adv BS Manhas appeared for the accused. The court while framing charge observed that the material submitted by the VOJ that accused has committed offence under the prevention of corruption Act for which he needs to be tried. The accused Patwari while being posted Halqa Raj Nagar Budhal in the year 2010 abused his official position and demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 5000/- from the complainant for issuance of house title verification certificate in favour of complainant’s mother. On March 26, 2010 accused received Rs 1500 as bribe from the complainant and demanded an amount of Rs 3500 and was caught red-handed while receiving the said amount on March 30, 2010. Court framed charges against the accused. JNF
