| All India 7th Gufran Memorial Cricket commences | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Doda, May 27: The All India 7th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2011 commenced at Doda today which is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan was the chief guest inaugurated the tournament while Commanding Officer (CO) 10 RR Col. V.S.Guleria and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Doda Atta-ur-Rehman Natnoo were the guest of honour on the occasion.
While Zaheer Abass Hashmi, Tariq Masood District Immunization Officer (DIO) ex-Councillor MC Doda Nuzhat Iqbal Zargar and Mehboob Hassan Kriapak manager YSCC Doda were also present on the occasion.
Earlier before the start of match students from AIER Public School presented welcome song.
The first inaugural match was the played between United Cricket Club (UCC) Doda and Islamic Cricket Club (ICC) Banihal.
The toss was won by ICC and they opted to field first. While batting UCC scored a low total and was bundled out for 59 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Touseef was the highest scorere with 22 runs followed by 11 runs contributed by Shahbaz.
From ICC Javed bowled a fine spell and grabbed 5 wickets while Muzamil took 2 wickets.
In reply ICC chased down the target in 8 overs by losing 5 wickets. From ICC Javed and Suhail scored 17 and 15 runs while from UCC Moviez and Imtiyaz took 2 and 1 wicket.Later on Javed of ICC Banihal was awarded as man of the match for his best all round performance.
The match was officiated by Amit Bansal, Dharmesh Bhardwaj, Sheraz Shenali, Irshad Malik and Majid Zargar.
