| Villagers thrash Sarpanch, caught while molesting woman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, May 27:
The locals of Sattani village near Udhampur thrashed a Sarpanch who was allegedly trying to outrage the modesty of a woman late last night.
The accused Sarpanch identified as Ravat Singh son of Shanker Singh, trespassed into the house of one Mohinder Kumar in Sattani area last night and allegedly attempted to rape latter’s wife who was sleeping in the other room.
However, she raised alarm and family members with the help of neighbours caught the accused and brought him outside the house where he was thrashed by other villagers.
After receiving information, police also reached the spot and intervened into the matter. Sources said locals torn clothes of accused who had had worn mask on his face. Police has booked Sarpanch under section 376, 511, 458 RPC.
