| 22 voters cast double votes in same Budhal panchayat | | BLO registers their vote at 2 places: Will authorities correct their lists | | Amit Sharma

RAJOURI, May 27: Although it is crime, there are 22 persons of one Panchayat Morha in Budhal block of Rajouri district whose vote has been registered in two wards and if sources are to be believed all of them have cast their votes at both places thus violating all elections norms and rules. Casting vote at two places is said to be a criminal offence.
Sources said that Block Level Officer of the area who had been assigned the duty of reviewing the voter list seemed to have ignored these double votes.
After filling petition in the Court, defeated Sarpanch of Morha Choudhary Mir Hussain has alleged that the BLO had intentionally not reviewed the list only to benefit a particular candidate and he succeeded in his mission. "I have proof that these people have cast their votes at two places", he said adding that why BLO let these votes at two places even though he was well aware about the same. "There was criminal intension to cast vote at two places and BLO along with others involved in registration of votes at two places must be booked under law", he demanded.
As per data submitted by Mir Hussain to Appellate Court through Advocate Qamar Hussain Choudhary, Devi Chand son of Lotchan resident of ward number 3, khana number 23 at serial number 126 of voter list has also cast his vote in ward number 5 as his vote has also been registered at serial number 197 of the list. Kajo wife of Devi Chand of ward number 3 having her name at serial number 127 in the wards voter list also cast her vote in ward number 5. She figures at serial number 198 in the voter list of ward 5 also.
In the similar way, Krishan Singh son of Devi Chand at serial number128 of ward number 3 voter list has also cast vote at ward number 5 where his vote is registered at serial number 199. Chanchala wife of Krishan serial number 129 has cast her vote at ward number 3 besides at ward number 5 where her vote is registered at serial number 200.
Khushi Mohammad son of Bhaga bearing serial number 1 in the ward number 3 voter list has cast double vote at 3 and ward 2 where his name figure at serial number 242. Shah Johan wife of Khushi Mohammad also followed the practice of her husband casting vote at ward 2 and three. He has her vote registered at both places. Ali Mohammad son of Bhaga serial number 7 at ward number 3 besides casting vote there3 has also cast his vote at ward number 2 where his vote is present on the voter list at serial number 246. Naseem Begum daughter of Ali Mohammad serial number 9 ward 3 has also cast get her vote registered at serial number 244 ward 2. Shahnaz Akhter daughter of Sher Mohammad serial number 10 ward number 3 has cast her vote also in ward 2 where her vote is registered at serial number 247.
Sher Mohammad son of Bhaga serial number 11 at ward number 3 is also having vote at ward number 2 serial number 250. Fatma wife of Sher Mohammad serial number 12 ward number ward number is also vote in ward number 2 at serial number 249. Mohammad Azam son of Sher Mohammad serial number 13 at ward 3 is also having vote at ward 2 serial number 248. Similarly Shahnaz Begum daughter of Sher Mohammad at serial number 14 ward number 3 is also having vote at serial number 247 at ward 2. Abdul Shakoor son of Sher Mohammad has also two votes in ward number 2 and 3 at serial number 15 and 252 respectively.
Ballu daughter of Mami at serial number 16 ward number 3 is also registered at ward number 2 at serial number 221.
On the same pattern Abdul Rashid son of Baja, Sathia Devi wife of Punjab Singh, Jasmeela daughter of Punjab Singh, Barkat Hussain son of Mohammad Bashir, Talib Hussain and Khursheed Begum are also having votes at two wards of the same Panchayat. |
