| DDC asks farmers for promotion of agricultural avail benefits | | |

The District Dev. Commissioner M.R. Thakur presided over the concluding session of four day Micro Management Agriculture awareness camp organized by Agri. Deptt. About 300 farmers, Panches and Sarpanches and prominent persons participated in the camp 100 sets of Agri. Implements were distributed among the prosperous farmers.
Speaking on the occasion DDC asked farmers to avail in incentives provided by the deptt. for promotion of agriculture activities so that their income could be raised. He disclosed that Model villages in each block of the distt. are being established for the upliftment of the village masses. He asked Agriculture Officers to speed up their village tour and provide technical know how to the farmers in their localities because the livelihood more than 80% population is depending upon agriculture and allied activities.
Chief Agri. Officer, Iqbal Choudhary disclosed in the camp that 11 awareness programmes are being organized in the district. The main objective is to aware the formers about incentives and technical know how. He said that Rs. 16 lacs. Is available with the deptt. as subsidy on fertilizer, agriculture implements and Apiculture dev. Full Deptt. mill cover 450 hect. Cover under dry land dev. Mill 25 water harvesting tanks have been already set up for conserving of water for agri. Uses. As many as 85000 seedling of knolkhol, cabbage, cupflowers are being distributed among farmers which have been already procured besides 300 mushroom units and 100 no; of Apriculture unit shall be established during the current financial year, he said.
