WEF demands fix fee structures for coaching institutions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 27: The Women Empowerment Forum (WEF) has asked the State Government to devise a policy to keep check over the functioning of private coaching institutions in the state to save students from exploitation. Addressing a meeting, WEF President Dr Anuradha Goswami, alleged that private coaching institutions had been charging exorbitant fees from the students for preparing them for Medical, Engineering and other competitive examinations. She said that these institutions were exploiting the students and their parents in the absence of government policy regarding their functioning and asked the state government to set up a Competent authority to keep a check over their style of functioning besides, fixing fee structures.Dr Anuradha Goswami also advised the state govt to arrange coaching classes for the aspirants of Medical, KAS, IAS and Engineering in college buildings at different districts so that the students and those belonging to far-flung areas could also benefited in this regard.She added that such coaching classes can easily be held during the upcoming months in which the services of highly trained faculty from the college be utilized.Goswami further took a dig at private coaching institution for allegedly not following the norms and exploiting the faculty members.She also said that to register a pil in this regard in the court if govt. fails to take necessary action. Rakesh, Jyoti, Salim Qureshi, JP Singh, Pawan, Sanjeev Sharma, Dheeraj, were also present during the meeting.
