| Nirvana Academy organizes Golden Guitar Music Fest | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 28:Nirvana Academy - a Cultural Club, organized "Golden Guitar Music Fest 2011" at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground here today to promote budding guitarist, amateur, professionals and overage musicians of J&K State.
Golden Guitar Music Fest is a 2-day long musical festival in which Solo Guitar Contest was held in different categories of music.
More than 50 participants from Jammu region took pmt in the contest. Some participants from Doda, Udhampur and Vijaypur also took part in the event.
The festival was inaugurated with the performance of Guru Gautam and the Mythya Rock band. Gautam spellbound the audience with the lead solo on Guitar.
The main highlight of the competition was open challenge category in which professional guitarists of Jammu took part. Participants from schools, colleges and institutes showed their skills on guitar by playing leads and chords.
PS Wazir, a veteran guitarist and Gautam Kotwal were in the judges panel.
Speaking on the occasion President Nirvana Academy Hitesh Badyal said that Golden Guitar music festival is a charity show to raise funds for the preservation of Baakh and promotion of Dogri folk music.
