Shabir felicitates newly elected Sarpanches

RAJOURI, MAY 29 – Minister of State for Power, CAPD and Transport, Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan has exhorted upon the newly elected Sarpanches and Panches to mitigate the problems of the people of their irrespective Panchayat halqas without any political consideration.
He was addressing a large gathering of newly elected Sarpanches and Panches from CD blocks of Rajouri, Thanamandi, Manjakote, Doungi and thousands of supporters at Rajouri today.
The Sarpanches and Panches projected various problems of their respective areas mostly pertaining to water , power, ration and road connectivity.
Mr. Shabir Khan said that smooth conduct of Panchayat Elections and large turnout of voters is the indicator of changed atmosphere in the state and hoped that the newly elected panchayat representatives would serve the people without any political considerations. He said that the dream of establishment of Panchayati Raj has been fulfilled under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah who always wants to take the administration at the door steps of the rural people.
With the decentralization of power the better implementation of MGNREGA and other State and Centrally sponsored schemes shall be ensured, he hoped.
He congratulated the newly elected Sarpanches and Panches and also thanked their supporters for electing dedicated representatives to the Panchayats and urged them to be facilitators in the development process launched by the Central and the State Governments.
