Omar spend night under shade of Chinar in Pahalgam | Unique tourist promotion! | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 29: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is leading by example to ensure peaceful tourist season in the Kashmir valley. To instill sense of security among the large number of tourists planning to visit the state Omar led from the front and himself spent the night under the stars in distant Aru valley, 12 kilometers from Pahalgam and later inaugurated a golf course in Pahalgam alongwith Dr Farooq Abdullah, his cabinet colleagues and senior officials. Idea to spend night at the distant location was intended at giving a sense of security to the tourists arriving to explore beauty of Kashmir valley. To promote tourist spots across the valley, Chief Minister has started posting exclusive pictures on his twitter account and has been receiving good response from his followers. As a welcome step, PDP MLA Rafi Ahmad Mir was also present during the inauguration ceremony. According to official sources, Kashmir valley is witnessing a rush of tourists due to rising heat across North India. State government has already made elaborate arrangements to welcome tourists and is organizing tourist mela across the spots to attract local populace. Jammu and Kashmir government is contemplating heavy rush during the month of June alongside start of annual Amarnath pilgrimage.
