KPs concerned over pathetic conditions of religious places | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 29: The Kashmiri Pandits of district Shopian today held a meeting to take a stock of the prevailing social, cultural and religious scenario of Shopian with particular reference to the pathetic conditions of its religious places, temples and shrines. The members present in the meeting specially noted the pitiable and dilapidated conditions of the roads, claimed Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan Nagbal Shopian and the Ram temple in the town. It was resolved in the meeting to constitute an elected body to look after the care, protection, management and development of all the religious places of the district. The body constituted for holding the elections comprises of Niranjan Nath Koul as Patron-in-chief, Rajiv Kumar Koul, M.K Raina, Advocate K.B Kaw Nanak Chand, Bushan Lal PanditaJ.L Sathoo, B.L Saraf and others. The members of the committee requested the state government to speed up the passage of Kashmiri Hindus Shrines and Temples bill, pending in the Legislative assembly.
