Doda, Rajouri girls excel in inter-district kabaddi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 29: Beating hosts Jammu district by five points (17-12), visiting district Doda girls clinched under-17 trophy in the three-day inter-district (divisional level) kabaddi tournament, which concluded under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel Nagrota, near here today. Similarly, the girls’ under-14 final was won by district Rajouri outplaying Reasi by 11 points with final score being 22-11. Earlier, in the under-17 final, Doda girls rode on brilliant performances exhibited by the trio of Neha Sharma, Rohini and Shilpa and outshined the raiding and catching skills displayed by Pooja Devi, Sapna and Shallu Devi of Jammu. In the meantime, in under-14 years final, Rajouri thrashed Reasi by 11 points. For Rajouri, Asha Bala and Dharshan Kour showed extraordinary skills to fetch maximum points while Ashia Bano and Shilpa Devi defended well from Reasi. In the closing function, State Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, ID Soni was special guest, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams. The competition was officiated by a penal of experts including Rakesh Kumari, Tilak Raj, Ram Murthi, Ashok Kumar, Ram Pal, Bua Ditta, Gulbir Singh, Gagan Kumar, Anju Rani and Sarita Gupta.
