Digvijay-Jakker share Bhaderwah Jai Kesari title

JAMMU, May 29: Jammu wrestler, Jakker Hussain held his opponent from Punjab, Digvijay to a draw in the main bout of Bhaderwah Jai Kesari dangal, organised by Bhadarwah Development Authority and Tourism Department under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, at Jai in Bhadarwah in district Doda.
Both these wrestlers were given away a cash prize of Rs 8000 by Chief Executive Officer Bhaderwah, Kalyan Singh Parihar and president Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
In all, 10 bouts were played in this day-long dangal, which was part of the Bharderwah Tourism-cum-Cultural Festival.
The second main bout again remained undecided between Jeeta of Khanna in Punjab and a BSF wrestler, Omkar Singh of Kathua. Both these wrestlers shared a cash prize of Rs 6000. Third bout too could not be decided between Parveen of Khanna and Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal in Jammu resulting into both get Rs 5000. The fight for the fourth bout also ended in a draw between Swarn Singh of Kot Bhawal and Kallu of Shiv Mandir Akhara in Jammu. Both the wrestlers were given away Rs 4,000 cash prize.
Earlier, chief guest, Member Legislative Assembly, Mohd Sharief Niaz declared open the event and witnessed a couple of fights. Member Legislative Council, Naresh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan were guests of honour.
Prominent among others present were Man Mohan Singh Choudhary, Tehsildar Bhadarwah Sudershan Kumar, ASP Tirth Ram Katoch, SDPO Jameel, Prithvi Raj Sharma and Bansi Lal Sharma as also Jai Raj.
Technical officials who helped in conduct of dangal included Jai Raj, Mohd. Fareed, Shoukat Wani, Nazir Puranoo, P.R Sharma and Bansi Lal Sharma.
Other Results: Jamat Ali of Jammu bt Divinder Kumar of Chinta Bhadarwah; Murad Ali of Nagrota bt Nishat Ali of RS Pura; Kallu of Jammu bt Pritam Singh of Reasi; Mohd. Akram of Jammu bt Mohd. Hussian of Jai Bhadarwah and Saif Ali of BSF bt Akram.
