BJP team in J&K to accesses centrally sponsored schemes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 29: BJP senior Parliamentarians Sumitra Mahajan, Maya Singh and Sanjay Ohra, who reached Jammu on Sunday as a part of All Party Parliamentarian Committee for an assessment of various centrally-sponsored rural and other schemes like Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) held a meeting with state BJP leaders. They discussed the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir, both from the party point of view as well as different issues relating to state's polity and development. BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas gave them resume of on-going Panchayat elections being held without implementing 73rd amendment of Indian constitution. He also spelt out the different programmes planned by the state unit for the next few months, specially relating to Interlocutors Report, shortage of electricity and drinking water, price rise and the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra. Visiting MPs gave a patient hearing and appreciated the state unit for its capacity and courage to carry out the party programmes despite odds and hurdles from the ruling establishment. National Executive Members Dr. Nirmal Singh and Ashok Khajuria (MLA), National Executive Member and Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, State Vice-Presidents Chander Prakash Ganga and Suresh Jamwal, General Secretaries Sat Sharma (C.A.) and Usha Choudhary, State Secretaries, Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Mamta Singh, Surinder Sharma and Shilpi Verma, Spokesperson Dr. Nirmal Kamal, Bansi Lal Bharti, Lalit Moza and Sanjay Khana attended this meeting.
