JKHRW concerned over unhygienic condition in Janipura | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 29: J&K Human Rights Watch (HRW) held a meeting to take stock of problems being faced by the people of Janipura Housing Colony and its adjoining localities due to unhygienic condition prevailing in the area as there is no arrangement of sanitation. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of BL Kapoor. In the meeting, it was revealed that lanes and drains are not being swept and the people have been suffering badly. The drains have been blocked and the garbage dumped resulting in insanitation which caused spreading of terrible diseases, moreover the main drains mostly been converted into parking of the vehicles which is troublesome at the time of heavy rains and the dirt, stool flows towards the doors of the inhabitants of Janipur Housing Colony near the State Head Quarter of Human Rights Watch. Besides this, the parks allotted in several beats of the colony have not been maintain yet and these parks are used for dumping garbage etc. which is a matter of high concern the Municipal authorities should give heed towards all these problems, so that the people may get rid of problems and saved from the diseases. BL Kapoor appealed Muncipal Commissioner to intervene personally into the problems on top priority bases.
