| Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti felicitates M R Puri | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 29:
J&K Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti (RBPS) Jammu in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized a function here today at K L Sehgal Hall.
On the occasion, Ex Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof MR Puri, an eminent scholar and educationist was facilitated for his exceptional and creditable contribution in the field of education and literature, especially in promoting the Dogri language and instigating the mega event ‘Display Your Talent’ as annual feature in early nineties in Jammu University.
Ved Bhasin senior eminent journalist and chairman of Kashmir Times Publications Jammu presided over while Patron RBPS and former Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma, Convener RBPS Prof Satya Pal Shrivatsa and Addl. Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages Savita Bakshi also shared the presidium
In her welcome address Bakshi said by felicitating to the living legend the Academy is feeling privileged and also highlighted the contributions of Puri
Prof Satya Pal Shrivatsa, the convenor of the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, presented the report of RBPS Jammu’s achievements and other curricular activities of Samiti for the year 2010 and 2011.
On this occasion Patron Mangat Ram Sharma with his thought provoking words motivated the Samiti and blessed that it should keep excelling in near future.
Ved Bhasin, Prof. Satya Pal Shrivatsa, Savita Bakshi and Prof Bharat Bhushan Sharma honoured Prof M R Puri along with Shawl and a citation.
The proceeding of the function was conducted by Prof. B.B. Sharma.
A multilingual Kavi Ghoshti was also held on the occasion wherein the noted poets of the state recited their poems with great passion in Dogri, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit and Punjabi.
