Infiltration a continuous process’

Phalgam, May 29, 2011 Describing infiltration from the other side of the LOC as a continuous process Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Sunday said that the natural beauty of valley is the main resource for the economic development.
Omar Abdullah on Sunday inaugurated first phase of Rs. 37 crore 18 holes Golf Course in Phalgam, 2400 meters above the sea level basically a plateau that was occupied by the military in the days of insurgency, leaving it out of bound for normal tourists.
The plateau really rises just before the confluence of the two rivers from Aru and Sheshnag. Consequently, a short hike down on the two sides descends into the roads, further on quickly into the rivers. On one side the Deer Park. An amount of Rs. 28 crore has so far been spent on the development of the proposed 18 hole Phalgam Golf Course. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Farooq Abdullah and, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister of State for Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisors to the Chief Minister, MLC Bashir Ahmad veeri and a great number of golfers were present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that Government is keen to develop sports tourism in the State.Omar Abdullaha said that the infiltration from the other side of the border is a continuos process and however maintained that the infiltarion can’t stop the flow of tourists in the valley. On the other hand Minster for Non Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah while backing the Jammu and Kashmir government over preventing a rights activist from entering the Valley, Union minister Farooq Abdullah today sought to clarify that he doesn't interfere in the administrative matters of the state.Defending the state government's decision to turn back Navlakha, who is known to have separatist views on Jammu and Kashmir, he said: "It is all right. For safety of Kashmir, we will do anything. It should be done.
