JAMMU, MAY 29:- Minister for industries and commerce Mr. Surjeet Singh Salathia today visited Rajpur koularh, Bari Shah-da –Talab, Badhori and Meen Sarkar villages of Vijaypur in Samba district and took stock of the ongoing development works in the Area.
At Rajpur Koularh, the Minister inaugurated Rs 3.5 lakh Community Facility Centre.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to construct one Bathroom in the area for the convenience of the locals. He directed to the PHE department to preserve the traditional water bodies in the area and also announced Rs 50,000 for deserving beneficiary under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY).
A large number of people met the Minister after inauguration of Lanes and drains constructed under MG-NREGA at a cost of Rs 3.27 lacs in village Bari. He also inaugurated additional three Class Rooms at Middle school Shah-Da –Talab constructed under S.S.A at a cost of Rs 4.95 Lacs.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated a newly constructed Rs 94 Lakh Tube-well at Badhori. The tube well with the capacity of 60,000 Gallon of water per day will benefit 4487 souls of the area .
Similarly, at Meen Sarkar, the Minister inaugurated a Tube well, constructed at a cost of Rs 242.50 lacs, under NRDWP.
A large number of people met the Minister at Meen Sarkar and apprised him about the problems being faced by them on account of lack of Road connectivity, besides poor provision for water, Power, health and education facilities. They also demanded early settlement of fresh pension cases.
The locals also apprised the minister about the urgent needs pertaining to the Govt. High School, Badhori, including laboratory, Libarary, 4 additional Class room and filling of vacant posts of teachers. They also demanded early settlement of compensation for the land acquired by the defence forces.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured that the pension cases of the area will be cleared as early as possible. He also assured early black topping of the local Road.
The Minister also assured that he would personally pursue the issue of land compensation with the defence forces, while promising that all other demands would also be fulfilled in a phased manner.
