Rajput Sabha delegation calls on President Patil | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 30: The President Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha J&K along with a delegation met with the President of India Pratibha Devi Singh Patil at Rashterpati Bhawan, New Delhi and presented a memorandum of demands. According to a press handout, the main issues highlighted in the memorandum include amendments in SRO 43 of 22 File 1994 where in compassionate appointment for the family member of armed forces personnel/para-military personnel, wholly dependent on the deceased was demanded for the residents of J&K irrespective of their place of posting within state or outside the state. The other demand was with regard to provide reservation to all weaker sections of the society irrespective of their caste. The delegation also demanded establishment of central University at the earliest to avoid further wastage of academic session of students. The Rajput Sabha also stressed for removal of discrimination with Jammu province in fields of development such as education sector, agriculture Sector, horticulture sector, health sector, roads and communication sector, Recruitment in civil services including police and numerous other schemes identified by the central list for welfare of the inhabitants of the State. Even request was made for rotation of reserved assembly constituencies in J&K state and implementation of delimitation commission. President Patil gave a patient hearing and assured early reddressal of the demands made by the delegation.
