| ‘Anti-tobacco Day’ celebrated by NCC wing of GCW Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 30: NCC Wing of GCW Udhampur celebrated Anti-Tobacco day in the college premises in which the people from six different villages namely Upper Omara Morh, Lower Omara Morh, Kallar, Dina Nagar and Dandyal were invited.
The sarpanch, Ram Piyari along with 6 panch namely Vijay Kumar, Sharda Devi, Kamla Devi, Vijay Kumar and Ashwani Kumar were also present on the occasion. The chief of the function was Dr. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, HOD Sanskrit.
Earlier in the welcome address, Shivani Sharma (ANO) GCW, Udhampur emphasized on the importance of the Day and applauded the villagers to live healthy and tobacco free life. She further said that “Destroy Tobbacco before it starts killing you”.
During the occasion cadet Arti and cadet Preeti spoke at length on the topic where as cadet Lalita, cadet Shipali, cadet Meera displayed charts depicting harmful effects of the Tobacco.
A skit was also presented by the NCC cadets in Dogri where in cadets impressed upon the villages to quit smoking and chewing tobacco.
Sarpanch Ram Piyari while speaking on the occasion thanked the college authorities for inviting the villagers to hands to quit such social evil.
