Divisional Kho-Kho tourney begins

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 30: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) as part of annual calendar of activities, the divisional level inter-district (boys) kho-kho tournament in under-14 and under-17 age groups started today at Youth Hostel, Nagrota near here.
On the opening day, Jammu, Udhampur, Samba and Doda districts won their respective matches to keep their hopes alive for the semifinal slot in under-14 boys section. In the under-17 category, Rajouri, Jammu, Samba and Doda have emerged as contenders for the semifinals.

Earlier, Deputy Director DYSS, SS Bali, inaugurated the competition. He interacted with the participating teams and their officials. The participating districts included Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda.

The Detailed Results:
Kho-Kho U-17 years: Samba bt Kishtwar by three points (7-4), Doda bt Poonch by six points (7-1), Rajouri bt Kathua by one point (5-4), Reasi bt Ramban by seven points (8-1), Rojouri bt Udhampur by three points (6-3), Jammu bt Reasi by 10 points (12-2), Udhampur bt Kishtwar by three points (7-4), Jammu bt Poonch by 10 points and one turn, Samba bt Kathua by six points (11-5) and Doda bt Poonch.

Kho-Kho U-14 years: Samba bt Kishtwar by 12 points (17-5), Doda bt Poonch by eight points (11-3), Rajouri bt Kathua by four points (7-3), Reasi bt Ramban by three points (11-8), Udhampur bt Rajouri by two points (3-1), Jammu bt Reasi by one point (4-3), Udhampur bt Kishtwar by one point, Jammu bt Poonch by six points (10-4), Samba bt Kathua by seven points (14-7) and Doda bt Ramban by seven points (14-7).
