Kameshwar Club wins U-16 Akhnoor tourney | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 30: Beating Little Flower School Akhnoor by six wickets, Kameshwar Cricket Club (KCC) clinched the Akhnoot (under-16) Cricket Tournament which was organised by Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Government Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor today. After winning the toss and decided to bat fisrt, Little Flower set a target of 129 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, KCC chased for the loss of four wickets. Deepak Kumar was top scorer with unbeaten 31-ball 51 runs while Akshay Kumar (23) and Arun Sharma (17) were other main contributors. From KCC, Amit Jamwal clinched three wickets, followed by Shubam Sharma, who took two and Sahil Pawar bagged one. Later, KCC overhauled the opponent total with six wickets in hand. Sahil Pawar played superb innings of 45-ball 49 runs. Madhav Sharma and Sahil Talwar added valuable 20 and 16 runs respectively. Romi, Abitash and Rajesh took one wicket each from Little Flower. For his all round performance, Sahil Pawar was declared man of the match. The man of the series trophy went to Deepak Kumar. In the final and prize distribution function, Station House Officer (SHO) Akhnoor, Naresh Sharma was chief guest. Prominent among others present were Sham Singh Langeh, Ranjit Singh Bhau and Sham Lal Sharma. This tournament was supervised by Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor.
