| Over 100 BJP activists join PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 30: Over a hundred active workers of BJP under the leadership of Atul Gupta, Parbhari Jammu East assembly segment today joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presence of former MLC Ved Mahajan during a function which was held at Malhotra Mohalla here today.
Welcoming new entrants in the party, Ved Mahajan said that PDP has emerged as premier political force and people from all over the state are joining this party. He said that people have started realizing that only PDP leadership has the conviction to address their wishes and aspirations because Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, during his tenure as Chief Minister of the state, has delivered good governance to the people.
“PDP led government has not only carved out a path of equitable development but also treated all regions and sub-regions of the state equally”, he said and reminded citizens of Jammu city that various developmental projects for the beautification of the old city were started during that time. “Not even a single new developmental project has been started in the Jammu city during the last two and half year”, he rued and added that the present regime headed by National Conference has failed to initiate developmental activities in the state. “What to say of starting developmental activities in remote areas, development projects in the capital cities have came to standstill”, he observed and pointed out that performance of this regime appeared only on papers.
Prominent among others who joined PDP along with Atul Gupta included Neeraj Gupta, Rohit, Amit, Joginder Bhalla, Sanjay, Sonia, Pinki, Ajay, Kohli, R Mittal, Raman Kumar, Faqir Chand, Om Parkash, Goutam, Nitin Kumar, Jyoti, Promila, Koushalaya, Rinki, Reshmi, Bitti, Rani and others. Senior leader of the PDP youth wing Sohit Sharma also addressed the function.
