| HC directs MCPC to complete selection process of MS, MD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May-30 (JNF):- The High Court has directed the MCPC to complete
selection process of MS, MD Management Quote to facilitating the
admission of selected candidates to the ASCOMS against the management
quote. The decision was given by Justice JP Singh in a petition filed
by Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital.
The Court observed that during the course of consideration of the
petition state counsel was asked to point out any deficiency in the
procedure adopted by ASCOMS and as to whether or not it was fair
transparent and non-exploitative, the state counsel submitted that the
state had not found the procedure in any way unfair or exploitative.
In view of the statement of made by the state counsel that the
procedure adopted by the petitioner institution was fair and
non-exploitative and keeping in view the fact that while selection has
been monitored by the Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional
Permanent Committee which was monitoring the selections to other
institution as well, Court prima-facie do not find any justification
in issuance of respondent’s communication May 13, 2011 whereby the
petitioner was debarred from the conducting the entrance test for
filling up the management quote seats of MD/MS, admitted the petition
and issued notice to the respondents with the direction that petition
be listed for final hearing in the last week of July , 2011 and
permitted to complete the selection process facilitating the admission
of selected candidates against the management quote. JNF
