Sham inaugurates CT Scan, inspects construction works | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, May 30: Adding much needed facilities to the health sector in the state, the Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma inaugurated CT Scan and a Sick New Born Baby Care Unit at the District Hospital Udhampur. Complimenting the people of Udhampur district for having modern infrastructure in the Hospital, the Minister said that the newly introduced facilities of CT Scan and Sick New Born Baby Care Unit would go a long way in timely diagnoses and providing best medicare facilities at the district level. He said that with the introduction of CT Scan in Udhampur Hospital, the patients hailing from adjoining districts could also avail the facilities which in turn minimize the referral cases. He said that district hospital Udhampur has already been projected for Rural Medical College with an intake capacity of 50 seats besides it has also been recommended for specialized funding under high focus district in health care. The Minister also announced a Medical Mobile Unit with all modern facilities for the district which would be set in place during current year. He said that the construction work on Trauma level II Hospital is in progress and would be completed in next few months. Legislators, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Krishan Chander Bhagat and Yash Pal Khajuria, also spoke on the occasion and projected their demands which mainly include filling of vacant posts Medicos and Para Medicos at different levels, construction of mortuary under set norms at District Hospital Udhampur, handing over of Dabar Park to floriculture department for development, conducting specialized training of doctors at premiere medical institute of the country and development of Gangera Hills under floriculture. The Minister also had a around of different units of the Hospital and interacted with the staff. He also issued necessary instructions to the management for better functioning of these units. Enroute, Sharma inspected on going works of CHC & AD buildings at Chenani and Kud. During the inspection of SDH, Chenani, the Minister instructed the BMO to make computerized registration slip system fully functional upto the first weak of June. He also inspected construction work on Residential Quarters and Fruit and Sabzi Mandi Batote and under construction District Hospital Ramban.
