Re-polling announced on June 6 in Nallah panchayat | Missing of ballot papers in Sunderbani! | | Amit Sharma Rajouri, May 30 After getting nod from Chief Electoral Officer BR Sharma, District Election authorities Rajouri have decided to hold re-polling in Nallah Panchayat of Sunderbani block on June 6 which was deferred during poling after some ballot papers were found missing. Although election authorities have taken the issue if missing of ballot papers seriousouly, authorities have decided to hold polls in the Panchayat on June 6. District Development Commissioner Rajouri has confirmed to Early Times that they are going to hold the poll in the Nallah panchayat on June 6 after which poll process in Rajouri district will be culminated. In Rajouri Panchayat polls were held in 6 phases in the total 9 blocks for 295 Panchayats and 1028 Panch halqas. However election at Nallah panchayat were held pending due to missing of some stationery on the day of election which held on May 12. As per sources election authorities have taken the issue of missing of papers as serious and Sub Divisional Magistrate Simran Deep Singh has been assigned the job to probe the missing of papers. Sources said that when the election initiated on May 12 at various polling booths of the block, ballot papers were found missing following which local authorities sought permission fro higher ups to suspend the election in midway. Election was suspended and an enquiry ordered. However the report of the SDM is still pending. |
