Court awards 10 years RI to Dhaba owner | Fine also imposed | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May-31 (JNF):- Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal today awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 1 lacs to Amar Singh u/s 15(b) NDPS Act for possessing 9 KG bhuki. According to the police case on July 24, 2004 the police station Kathua received information that one Amar Singh running a Dhaba at Lagate Morh and is doing business of selling Bhukhi. The police raided the Dhaba and recovered 9 KG Bhukhi from the possession of accused and registered a case and after investigation challan was presented in the competent court. The court after hearing the parties observed that in view of the discussions the request of accused convict for imposing lesser imprisonment is hereby rejected and the accused Amar Singh shall suffered rigorous imprisonment for a period of 10 years and shall pay a fine of Rs 1 lacs. Court further said that in default of payment of fine he shall suffered imprisonment for period of two years. JNF
