| Congress misusing official machinery in elections: Madni | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, May 31 (KNS): The Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Sartaj Madni, Tuesday accused Congress party of influencing voters through money and other means in the ongoing Panchayat elections.
Talking to KNS Madni said, “The ruling Congress party is misusing official machinery in the elections. They are using note for vote and also paying money to elected candidates.”
He alleged that the Congress leaders were giving fertilizers, electricity wires and such other things to buy votes.
Terming performance of Peoples Democratic Party in the Panchayat elections as satisfactory, he said, “Though the polls are being held on non-party basis, Congress is still using money to buy votes.”
He hoped that newly elected panches and sarpanches would work with dedication to solve the problems of people at grass roots level.
